Ben Newsome

After years of teaching science in schools, Ben realised technology's great potential to provide different learning opportunities – especially for students living outside our major cities. A virtual education pioneer, Ben has been providing science outreach to schools and community groups through his Fizzics Education business since 2004. With increased demand for virtual experiences in schools, he co-founded Virtual Excursions Australia – a best-practice advice hub for educators that connects classes to a wealth of cultural, scientific and other community experiences. Ben is using his grant to develop a range of training packages to empower more educators to confidently host immersive and entertaining learning experiences.
