Margaret Yandell

Margaret is committed to establishing a not-for-profit funeral service in the Far North Queensland region to offer an affordable and culturally appropriate approach to bereavement. Margaret has been working with Tender Funerals, a not-for-profit funeral service which ensures all people, including the financially disadvantaged can access affordable and meaningful funerals for their loved ones. Living in a diverse community, including First Nation peoples and families, Margaret’s wants to prevent more financial hardship by creating an affordable funeral care experience. She has worked diligently with her community to raise awareness of the Tender Funerals model and the broader movement to empower people around their end-of-life rights and options. The grant will support Margaret with securing a suitable site for the services.
