Mona Mahamed's social enterprise idea, Stitch the Gap, builds on the success of the Sew Good project, equipping women with industry-standard sustainable textile design and production skills. By repurposing damaged or unsold fabric, Stitch the Gap provides pathways to employment and self-employment for women facing financial and social disadvantages.
The social enterprise aims to divert tonnes of fabric waste from landfill while empowering women to create their own income-generating opportunities. Stitch the Gap fosters social inclusion and economic participation, making a significant impact on the participants' lives.
