Andrea Comastri

In November 2020 Andrea opened Hotel Etico, Australia's first social enterprise hotel, employing and training young people with disability. The historic Hotel located in the beautiful Blue Mountains is an adaptation of the Albergo Etico model, born over 10 years ago in Northern Italy. Andrea’s vision is to see a Hotel Etico in every State and Territory in Australia and transform community attitudes towards people with disability and promote it as a model for other employers to create inclusive workplaces. Working at Hotel Etico builds trainees confidence and skills to support them with their future work participation and independent living. Andrea is also working with training partners to support the young workers to gain external accredited certifications. The grant allows Andrea to document the Hotel Etico hospitality and independent living training program.
