Melissa Redsell

Melissa founded A Brave Life in 2016 to overcome the challenges faced by vulnerable young. Young mums under 25 can often suffer from social stigma, and some drop out of school early, without completing Year 12. Once a teenage mum herself, Melissa’s lived experience helps her to strongly relate to young mothers and an understanding that early intervention is the key to their future success. A Brave Life empowers young mothers through life skills and mentoring programs, also providing them with good quality baby products and having a core philosophy of inspiring young women to dream big and to never give up. The grant will help Melissa go from volunteer status and part-time midwife into a full-time paid position, allowing her to reach more vulnerable teenage and young mothers within the community.
