Economic empowerment
Economic empowerment is a multi-dimensional concept. It’s about enabling individuals and communities to gain the skills, confidence, resources and opportunities needed to shape their own futures. We focus on four drivers.
Adopting the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs)
Adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015, the SDGs are a call for action by all countries - poor, rich and middle income - to promote prosperity while protecting the environment.
They recognise that ending poverty must go hand-in-hand with strategies that build economic growth and address a range of social needs including education, health, equality and job opportunities while tackling climate change and working to preserve our ocean and forests.
We work to deliver all 17 goals with a focus on goals 1,2,4,8 and 11.
