8. Interpretation

8.1 For the purposes of the Tomorrow Makers SPARK Grant Terms and Conditions:

(a) "AMP Group" means AMP Limited (ACN 079 354 519) and any Related Body Corporate from time to time of AMP Limited and their respective Employees.

(b) "Applicant" means the individual applying for a Tomorrow Makers SPARK Grant.

(c) "Application" means the online form used to apply for a Tomorrow Makers SPARK Grant which can be accessed from ampfoundation.com.au.

(d) "Economic Empowerment" means the process of giving individuals, communities and groups the knowledge, skills and resources to make informed decisions and improve their economic well being. It goes beyond just income and includes having access to opportunities, capital and the confidence to influence economic policies and break cycles of disadvantage. For the purpose of this definition, and to be eligible to make an Application, the AMP Foundation will focus on four drivers of Economic Empowerment as follows:

Food Security: Food security exists when every individual has consistent physical, social, and economic access to enough safe, nutritious, and culturally appropriate food. We recognise that providing food security is not only about the availability of food, but also about ensuring it is accessible and affordable to all people, regardless of their circumstances. This includes food that is purchased, donated, or rescued through community programs, delivered in partnerships with food relief organisations, and solutions that prevent food waste. Food security encompasses the dignity of choice, alongside a focus on supporting vulnerable and disadvantaged people.

Our aim is to contribute to the wellbeing of individuals, families, and communities, helping to reduce hunger, improve health outcomes, and foster social inclusion.

Lifelong Learning: Lifelong learning is a continuous, self-motivated pursuit of knowledge and skills that extends throughout a person’s life. It is about ensuring that everyone has ongoing opportunities to develop the knowledge, skills, and capabilities they need to grow, adapt, and thrive in an ever-changing world. Lifelong learning encompasses formal, non-formal, and informal learning, taking place in diverse settings such as the workplace, community, online platforms, and at home. It empowers individuals to participate fully in their communities and the economy, enhancing their ability to respond to new challenges and opportunities. It supports social inclusion by helping people stay engaged and connected, regardless of their background or stage of life, and promotes personal development, critical thinking, and resilience.

We aim to contribute to a more equitable, innovative, and adaptable society, where everyone can contribute meaningfully and achieve their full potential.

Financial Inclusion: Financial inclusion means working to ensure that everyone—regardless of their income, background, life circumstances, or level of vulnerability— can fully participate in society and the economy. It means providing the support, education, and resources needed for people to understand and confidently plan for the future and respond to unexpected challenges. Through advocacy, education, and practical support, we aim to help people build the skills, knowledge and resilience necessary for full social and economic participation. Financial inclusion is not just about access - it's about prioritising dignity, empowerment and trust, it’s about giving everyone the opportunity to achieve greater independence and wellbeing, so they can actively participate in their community and pursue their aspirations.

Our aim is to contribute to a fairer, more inclusive society where no one is left behind.

A Safe Home: A safe home is a secure, stable, and nurturing environment where every individual feels supported, respected, and free from harm, violence, or discrimination. It provides a foundation for wellbeing by meeting basic human needs such as shelter, warmth, privacy, and personal space. It’s a place where people can rest, recover, and build their lives with dignity. A truly safe home is a space where people can develop positive relationships, express themselves, and feel a genuine sense of belonging and inclusion, regardless of their background or circumstances.

Our aim is to foster hope, resilience, and empowerment, enabling people to pursue education, employment, and personal goals by helping provide this crucial stepping stone for individuals and families to achieve stability, wellbeing, and a brighter tomorrow.

(e) "Social Enterprise" means a business that's primary focus has a social, cultural or environmental purpose that is described in its constitution and generates revenue from a trade or service, and a percentage of its profit is reinvested into the purpose stated in its constitution.

(f) Any reference to money is to Australian dollars, unless otherwise stated.

(g) "we", "us" and "our" means the AMP Foundation and includes its employees, contractors, and agents.

(h) "you" and "your" means Applicant.
